Rheumatology Tablet Project– Where the driver was to free up time in the exam room so the doctors could care for more patients. We identified 8-15 minutes of time that just about every patient was spending in the exam room completing a survey to catch the Doctor up on how things have been since their last visit. We took that entire survey and redeveloped the templates to work visually on a small tablet where the patient could complete them in the waiting room. Utilizing both out great development skills and IT skills we accomplished this in an extremely secure environment in a way that is enjoyable for the patients. All feed-back we have received from the client is that the patients love being able to complete the survey in the waiting room over the exam room and now the client has been able increase from 3 to 5 doctors in the same space with the new available exam room time. WOW!
Pre-Visit Planning Report – Where the driver was one of the most logical and rewarding request we’ve heard with an EHR. “We would like to review approximately 65 details about our patient on the morning of their visit around the following areas. (PCP, appointment details and next appointment , problem list, diabetes screen history, hypertension history, lipids results, nutrition activity, BMI history, PAM score (Patient Activation Measure / which assesses an individual's knowledge, skill, and confidence for managing one's health), depression screening, date of last well exam, Immunization details, flu vaccine history, HPV vaccine, colorectal screening history, and cancer screening history. We would like this report to run by location, by provider, by date, and to be different based on patients gender and age.” We not only completed this project successfully but with the concept of building repository tables during the off ours of the day, they can run this report in less than a minutes time. This allows the doctors in a just few moments to get up to speed on the entire health history of every patient that comes through the door. (now that’s what I call helping the world not just the client).
